Arizona's Trier tested positive for PED

Arizona's Trier tested positive for PED

It remains unclear when or if he will play for Arizona at all this season.

Miller has consistently deflected questions throughout the season, and Arizona reminded the press weekly it wouldn't be answering questions about Trier's suspension. He was suspended in October, but has since won an appeal with the NCAA. Goodman adds that the 6-foot-5 guard was cleared by the NCAA but can not return to the court until the drug is "completely out of his system".

"I have never knowingly taken a banned substance", he said in the statement.

Arizona guard Allonzo Trier's suspension is the result of a failed PED test, solving a mystery dating back months. The NCAA agreed that I had no knowledge of receiving the substance and my eligibility was restored. He has been allowed to practice and travel with the team. He appealed to the NCAA and was ultimately cleared, however, Trier can not play again until the PED has completely cleared his system. All year long, Trier has been sitting out but has been allowed to practice with the team without official word from the university or the NCAA of the reason the sophomore was missing games. While the level of the drug has decreased, Goodman wrote it was still present in the most recent test within the last couple of weeks. "Unfortunately, I am unsure of when that time will be, but I hope it is soon". Will the drug be out of his system by then?

Trier averaged 14.8 points per game as a freshman last season and was expected to be the catalyst behind Arizona's bid to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2000-01. Trier has missed all 18 of UA's regular-season games and also did not play in the Wildcats' two exhibition games, though he has practiced with the team.

With 13 games remaining, it will be interesting to see if Trier is able to make it back and help the Wildcats.
